A 28-year-old lady from Foshan visited HANFEI Plastic Surgery Hospital for comprehensive prosthetic rhinoplasty, eager to fix her low nasal bridge and wide nasal alae that bothered her during wedding events. As a wedding planner, she was often in group photos with couples and vendors—but she hated how her flat nose made her face look “washed out” in photos, and the wide alae made her nose appear disproportionate to her small face. She wanted a nose that looked natural, even in candid shots, and wouldn’t look “done” to clients or colleagues.

We customized the surgery to her needs: for the nasal bridge, we chose a medium-height ePTFE (expanded polytetrafluoroethylene) prosthesis, which is softer than silicone and blends better with natural nasal tissue—perfect for avoiding a “plastic” look in photos. For the wide alae, we performed a minimal narrowing procedure, removing just 1mm of soft tissue to avoid making the nose look “pinched.” We also used autologous ear cartilage to shape the nasal tip, adding subtle definition that complemented her heart-shaped face.
The recovery was smoother than she expected—she had mild nasal congestion for 5 days, but she could still work remotely to plan weddings. When she removed the splint after 12 days, she took a selfie at a wedding venue and said, “It looks like my own nose, just more balanced!” By the third month, the nose had fully settled: the bridge had a natural curve, the alae were neatly narrowed, and the tip had a soft definition. She laughed and said, “Last week, a bride asked if I’d always had such a nice nose—I didn’t mention the surgery!”
