Wedding Makeup Artist’s Natural Nose! 27-Year-Old Zhongshan

More

A 27-year-old lady from Zhongshan came to HANFEI Plastic Surgery Hospital for comprehensive prosthetic rhinoplasty,

eager to fix her low nasal bridge and wide nasal alae that made her self-conscious when working with brides.

As a wedding makeup artist, she spent hours close to clients’ faces—she hated how her flat nose made her face look “lacking depth” when brides looked at her for makeup inspiration, and the wide alae made her nose appear disproportionate to her small, heart-shaped face. She wanted a nose that looked natural, even in close-up interactions, and could move slightly when she smiled at brides.
We tailored the surgery to her client-facing needs: for the nasal bridge, we chose a soft ePTFE (expanded polytetrafluoroethylene) prosthesis, which blends more seamlessly with natural nasal tissue than silicone—perfect for avoiding a “plastic” look during intimate makeup sessions. For the wide alae, we performed a minimal narrowing procedure, removing just 0.8mm of soft tissue to avoid making the nose look “pinched.” We also used autologous ear cartilage to shape the nasal tip, adding subtle definition that complemented her features without being too sharp.
The recovery process was smoother than she expected—she had mild nasal congestion for 4 days, but she worked on makeup sketches from home and didn’t miss any wedding bookings. When she removed the splint after 10 days, she did makeup for a bride, and the client even commented on how “fresh” she looked, with no idea about the surgery. By the third month, the nose had fully healed: the bridge had a natural curve, the alae were neatly narrowed, and the tip had a soft definition. She said, “Brides now trust my makeup suggestions more—I think it’s because I feel more confident in how I look. No one has asked about my nose; they just say I have a ‘friendly face’!”
