A 28-year-old lady from Shunde visited HANFEI Plastic Surgery Hospital for comprehensive prosthetic rhinoplasty,
aiming to fix her short nasal bridge and wide nasal alae. As a jewelry salesperson, she often poses for product photos—
she felt her flat nose made her face lack focus, and the wide alae made her nose look “bulky” in close-up shots. She emphasized that she wanted a nose that looked “like it’s always been mine”—not a dramatic change, but a refinement that enhanced her facial features.
We tailored the surgery to her face shape (oval face with soft cheekbones): first, we chose a low-profile膨体 (ePTFE) prosthesis for the nasal bridge—ePTFE is softer than silicone and blends better with natural nasal tissue, creating a more realistic touch. Then, we used autologous ear cartilage to extend her short nasal tip, adding a slight upward curve to balance her wide alae. For the alae, we performed a minimal narrowing procedure (removing just 1mm of soft tissue) to avoid making the nose look “pinched.”
The recovery was smoother than she expected—she had only mild nasal congestion for 5 days. When the splint came off after 12 days, she smiled and said, “It’s perfect! It doesn’t look ‘done’ at all.” By the third month, the nose had fully settled: the bridge had a natural slope, the tip was proportional, and the alae were neatly narrowed. Her manager even commented, “Your product photos look better lately—you seem more confident on camera.”
